Hala Basha-Gorani [1](b. March 1, 1970), is an American anchor/correspondent for CNN International based in the network's headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously based at the London bureau, she anchors CNN International's Your World Today along with Jim Clancy. The program is seen on CNN/US from 12-1 p.m. Eastern Time. She also hosts a monthly program on CNN called Inside the Middle East and often reports from the region. Gorani was born in Seattle, Washington, United States to Syrian parents[2] but was mainly raised in Paris, France. Her name Hala is a common Arabic name which means halo. She earned a Bachelor of Science in economics from George Mason University near Washington, D.C. and graduated from the Institut d'études politiques in Paris in 1995. She speaks English, French and Arabic. She currently resides in Atlanta. French novelist Yann Moix dedicated his first novel "Jubilation Vers le Ciel" to Gorani in 1996.Prikkelend Plaatje
